There's a song that says "I'm proud to be an American." It just means that you are happy and feel good about being an American, not that you think you are better than other people. IMO. :)

My family was "proud" of me when I graduated college this year with high grades. So pride isn't necessarily a bad thing. Envy could be bad if it makes you feel bad.

Yes I guess pride and envy could be considered opposites. I don't think pride is bad if you don't take it too far. You can have pride in something...it just means you feel good about it.

I've won a few trophies on spore for a few contests but not anything in real life. You should start entering contests on Spore. I'll bet you would win some trophies. :)
