--Read this, as it provides some Back Story for WolfBlood--The documents contained within these folders were acquired at great length and difficulty. These papers contain all information about the reclusive research and development institution, SHAKRA labs. -- SHAKRA was founded in 1989 by a wealthy but obscure former Harvard proffessor, Shaun Broker. The institute started as a privately funded lab, dedicated to researching cancer. Much like it's founder, it was very obscure, and quickly became reclusive, purposefully staying out of the news, not making public announcements, and remaining relatively unknown to the general public of America; a trait they maintain even today. The government, of course, knew about their work, but took little interest. --Over the years, their interests expanded somewhat; they became obsessed with all studies related to the brain. The physical working of the mind in the brain, computers controlled by the human nervous system, and broadcasts to alter brainwaves. This attracted the attention of the National Bereau of Defense, who commissioned the development of massive memory altering technologies. SHAKRA agreed, but only if it would all be confidential. Research into a memory altering device was extensive, but no reliable prototype has yet been produced, despite millions in government funding. At the same time, SHAKRA labs was working on a promising treatment for cancer. Recently, a hypothetical treatment had been thought of in using Viruses to insert genes into the cells of cancerous individuals. Cancerous cells, which have malfunctioning genes, could be stopped by inserting healthy genes. Most experimental treatments so far have been fatal failures, but SHAKRA labs developed a super virus (Who knows how they did it so fast?) that could inject an entire genome into every cell in the body, and fuse this DNA with the original DNA. A template genome could be constructed from the genes of a few healthy individuals, and then replicated and inserted into the virus. These viruses would then cure an individual of all of it's genetic disorders. The only major drawback is that the virus is unable to mutate or reproduce on it's own, so inserting genomes would be very difficult, and laboratory equipment is required to replicate the virus. The whole procedure is currently undergoing animal testing on dogs, or possibly wolves (we are unable to get this info at the present.) --The current state of their other projects is unknown, other than that brain-controlled machines and mass-memory alteration are still being worked on.
