Descripción

The fastest ground-dwelling creatures on Darwin IV. These incredible creatures can run up to and beyond 40 mph, easily outrunning the major predatory species of Darwin IV, such as the Arrowtongues and Prongheads. When seen from the side, one may imply that it appears to be a quadruped, but when taken a glance at another angle, one would instantly see that it in fact has two legs, that appear to be fused versions of four, indicating a quadrupedial ancestor. Due to its extreme speed and bipedial design it would obviously require some sort of balancing mechanism, which in this case, a hyper-developed set of halteres have evolved over time on both sides of the creature. This balances it by keeping the two structures completely horizontal. The small head or cephalon like "skull" on the front of the creature houses its primary senses but also a long tongue that the Gyrosprinter uses for eating perhaps liquified plantlife or massive colonies of algae. To help it with its highly energetic lifestyle, it supports two hearts and nostrils relocated at the shoulders of the beast to provide a more steady flow of oxygen.
