Description

Turdus migratorius
The American Robin is part of the Family called Turdidae that consists of passerine birds called thrushes.
DIET: invertebrates, fruits, and berries
DISTRIBUTION: North America
BASIC INFO: An iconic bird that is known by many. Often depicted as the early bird gets the worm. The America Robin is sexually dimorphic in the appearance of the sexes. Males are more colorful with brighter bellies and slightly larger. The females are duller with a tint of brown and duller bellies. It can be hard to tell the difference between the sexes. Juveniles are duller in color and have spots on their chest.
BREEDING: The nest is made by the females. She will lay 3-5 eggs and incubate them. She will feed the chicks. The male keeps guard of the territory and will respond to his mate if she needs food. (The male can occasionally sit on the nest.)
FASCINATING FACTS: The cowbird (parasite) female will lay an egg in the American Robin's nest. The parents can recognize the egg and can destroy the cowbird egg.
This bird is iconic in culture in America. There are songs named after the bird, an old cartoon (Who Killed Cock Robin), a sign of spring, and much more.
NOTE: The bird is supposed to have a darker head, so I did a mixture of black and gray for the main body color. Feet and legs are supposed to be gray. Throat to have white streaks.

Oh nice! Minus the risk of being bitten, that sounds like it would be a blast

@R13426, A macaw will be made in the future. I have been thinking about making one. I work with macaws at my work and many other types of birds.
