The first cache of Revenant artifacts had been unearthed several years after the Dark Matter catastrophe on Merean 3. After raising the planet, a team of archeologists uncovered an abandoned network of 'unfamiliar' ruins, as well as encryption's from an unintelligible species. An academic committee of intergalactic archaeologist, biologists and literary theorists formed to conceptualize and translate, effectively interpreting the artifacts, eventually these great minds deciphered fragments of the code; thereby revealing that whoever these 'unfamiliar' beings had been, at one time they had practiced ritualistic cannibalism on the Merekawni Ghouls. Coincidentally, several of the academics studying the Revenant artifacts also became the first 'Seekers' upon indoctrinating themselves by their own translations.
