How tough is a floater's skin. That would determine how durable they are. Or at least, how well guarded are their lighter than air gas holding bladders. That determined the durabillity of zeppelings so I'd assume the same would apply to floaters.

... well, asside from the fact that you dislike my use of echolocation enabbled creatures, I must tell you that... THERE ARE NO BIRDS ON REDEYA!!! allright? so, in reality, a bird would not eat a floater alive, because birds would never naturaly come in
