Description
The Choa-Len FT-Sc08 is the most recent planetary fighter trainer. It had been pulled from front line service by a new upgraded version (F-Sc11a) that has longer flight, weapons load out and more sophisticated computer control. The Sc08 though remains a mainstay in the Empires reserve air defense. It has great flight capabilities and a general weapons load out which include two AIS and one AIA missile pack. This is complimented with a fast regenerative base photon emitters on each wing tip, hence the large cooling bays. Truly not state of the art by todays standard, but a worthy bird and still within the means of usefulness in any close quarter air battle if required. Mostly used by flight command to train and ready 'top gun' pilots in prep for the more sophisticated Sc11a, its true ability comes from its maneuverability and speed. The engine is a light duty H-mass converter. Capable of almost near half-light speed and drop your jaw turns, it is unmatched by its ease of flight. A two seater liquid filled cabin, flight pilot and weapons officer, it is able to strike a target, then leave, before the missile has even finished its flight to the designated target. Thus it is nicknamed the 'Ghost'. In air-to-air it is unparalleled due to its speed and maneuverability. Quite capable of out running and then return to the rear of any offender, thus insuring a knock down. The Sc08 is loved by veterans and still argued to be the best fighter in the fleet, even though the Sc11a is a more advanced craft. [Ship design by Al B. The lighting affects on this are terrific, and I really like the hull design. Fantastically inspired description. It's a shame that ships just never get the love that they deserve :)
