Clearing of forests and other habitats where these "plants" reside has caused rapid habitat loss and has placed the Plant-trap on a threatened species watchlist.

Certain species have been noted to eject acids normally used in digestion as a form of "ranged attack" in order to weaken prey. The Plant-trap typically feeds on whatever can easilyf it inside its maw, as anything larger could potentially kill the plant
